This month’s coffee

Laurina

From Guatemala’s celebrated Finca El Socorro, this rare Laurina varietal offers something unusual: exceptional flavor with naturally low caffeine. A natural Bourbon mutation, Laurina retains the elegance of Arabica with a gentler lift - making it an ideal afternoon coffee or a softer daily ritual.

Grown by Cup of Excellence-winning producer Juan Diego de la Cerda, this lot offers bright citrus, delicate sweetness, and remarkable ease.

Calm through Rarity

Most coffees are shaped by processing decisions after harvest. Laurina’s distinction begins earlier at the varietal level.

As a rare Bourbon mutation, Laurina naturally contains less caffeine, subtly shifting how the cup is experienced. With less intensity and bitterness competing for attention, sweetness, citrus clarity, and delicacy can feel more pronounced.

What emerges is not a lesser coffee, but a different expression of balance defined by elegance, softness, and remarkable drinkability.

Coffee designed for equity

We do things a little bit differently in the modern coffee trade. In fact, we don’t trade at all. We partner and feature producers and roasters that craft coffee in small batches - all from origin.

Roasting at origin means you get coffees that are uniquely reflective of each region. Producers and roasters working together to express their craft, varietals, and time-honored growing traditions.

It also means more of what you pay stays where the coffee is grown - not where it’s traded.
